Core Collection Care Instructions
Natural fibers are wonderful if you're lucky enough to have them in your closet! To keep them looking nice and fresh there are special ways to care for them. A natural fiber is prone to shrinking so always use cold water when washing. The fibers can easily get damaged if you're too rough with your pieces while washing them so always use gentle hands.
If you're not positive on what to do for a piece, don't be afraid to look up videos and tutorials on how to care for your piece. After all, this is an investment piece that should be a part of your life-long wardrobe.
How to care for your new garments:
Silk
Hand wash in a small bin or sink with cold water and gentle detergent. Once submerged leave soaking for a few hours. Rinse with cold water until all the soapy residue in the garment is gone. Gently pat dry with clean towel. Dry flat on a drying rack. To avoid creases add a soft towel under the garment.
Wool
This natural fiber doesn't need as much cleaning as you would think! You can get many wears out of your wool garment before it needs to be washed. Try to spot clean a garment before fully committing to cleaning it.
Spray with a 50/50 mix of vodka & water to get any smells out.
If the garment needs to be washed do the following:
Fill a bowl or basin with room temp water, a splash of dish soap and a splash of vinegar, swish it around in the mixture gently with your hands. Let sit for a few hours before pouring out the water and replacing it with room temperature water (Keep it on the cooler side) swish the garment around in the basin until there are no more suds.
Once that is complete it is time to dry your garment. Lay the piece flat on a large towel. Roll the towel to the other end, rolling the garment with it. Squeeze the towel a few times gently (never ring it!) as you go. Repeat until the towel no longer absorbs the moisture from the garment. On a drying rack set up a clean dry towel flat as the base. Gently place the garment on top of the towel on the drying rack. Lay the piece out as it would look on your body, making sure there are no wrinkles. If it is a sweater, fold the arms in towards the center of the sweater so they do not elongate. Let sit til the piece is dry. Once the piece is nearly dry take a clean dry towel and lay it over the piece and gently iron away any leftover moisture.
If you're concerned about a piece take it to a trusted dry cleaners!
